Self Care - The Best Doctor

We need doctor, when we feel not well; but in the prevailing society it is seemed that doctors are too busy and they don’t give personal attention to their patients.

Some of medical problems don’t require to doctor. We can handle and manage it at home very easily. Here are some useful and practical Tips in order to remove common disease.


1.Cough

It may be defined into two types:

1. Dry Cough

2. Sputum (bacteria or fungi that are infecting the lungs)

For Dry Cough


  • Take the hot drinks Such as tea, milk or soup. - Suck on cough lozenges.

  • Take an over-the-counter cough medicine that contains dextromethorphan

2.Cold

such as running of nose and very low fever etc.
Use a vaporizer or a humidifier, if possible and eat hot and spicy foods
Drink lots of liquids
Take an over- the -counter medicine (paracetamol and/ or aspirin) for relieving pain and fever.
If you have a fever, Take complete rest.
Take half a teaspoon of salt into one cup of warm water and put three or four drops each nostril several times a day.



3.Diarrhea


Take a Fresh Lemon Juice
Drink lassi
Take an over-the-counter medicine, Imodium or Lomotilf
Eat small amounts of soft foods, such as cooked potatoes, yogurt and soft rice.


4.Minor Headache

Try to relax. Tilawat , Namaz and Zikr may help.
Take an over-the-counter medicine for reducing the pain
Rest in a quiet, dark room with your closed eyes .
Massage with your thumbs.
Take a shower.
